Congratulations to NES graduate students Rama Alhabian, Kiley Foster, Kirsten Smith, and Cale Staley on recieving a 2018-2019 Dissertation Writing Group award. The Society for the Humanities awards these competitive grants to encourage supportive and critical discussion of dissertation prospecti and drafts of dissertation chapters in the humanities. The funds provide support for small groups of interdisciplinary graduate students to convene regularly to share drafts of dissertation chapters and to discuss research and writing strategies for approaches to the group's common interdisciplinary focus. Kirsten, Rama, Kiley, and Cale will form the "Re-Considering Identities and Textualities in the Near/Middle East: From the Ancient to the Modern" writing group.
