Daniel is a third year Ph.D. student in the Higher Education Division at the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education and a Research Associate at the Penn Center for Minority Serving Institutions (CMSI). As a Cornell student, he spent a semester abroad in Jordan while participating in the inaugural cohort of NES's Intensive Arabic Program in the spring semester of 2010. He draws upon his experiences in the program while leading CMSI's research on students of color studying abroad and efforts to increase study abroad participation at minority serving institutions, which are colleges and universities known for educating racially underrepresented populations in higher education. In addition to his work on study abroad, Daniel researches faculty diversity and hiring practices.
