The day after the internship ended, he got on a flight out to Jordan where he met up with three alumni of Cornell's Arabic program and worked for a boutique economic development advisory shop based in Amman. After just under a year in Jordan, he returned to CSIS as the program manager and research associate for the Middle East Program. His team approaches the Middle East in four core thematic areas: great power competition and geostrategy, the environment and governance, social and political change, and humanitarian aid/reconstruction. Danny's focus while with the program has been on U.S. geostrategy and interests in the Middle East, looking specifically at great power competition in the region, implications of "pivot to Asia" (or lack thereof), and challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
