Student Group Co-sponsorship Requests

Cornell student organizations may request co-sponsorship for events if the event meets the following criteria:

  • Event is sponsored and/or organized by a university registered student organization
  • Topic is about or related to the Middle/Near East
  • Event is free and open to the public
  • Event will take place on Cornell's Ithaca campus (or will be easily accessible to the Ithaca community)
  • Event has an academic component, like a lecture, workshop, or conference (it is not a social reception only)

Support provided by the department

  • Promotion of your event to our department mailing lists
  • Inclusion of your event on our department digital screen (must provide a flyer as .jpeg or .png file; 1920x1080 pixels)
  • Funding support (must provide a budget with your request for funding)

Student group responsibilities

  • making all logistical arrangements for the event
  • creating all promotional material (the Department of Near Eastern Studies should be listed as a co-sponsor)
