Congratulations to Makda Weatherspoon and Christopher M. Monroe, who both received teaching awards from the College of Arts & Sciences this year.
Weatherspoon is a senior lecturer of Arabic and received the Sophie Washburn French Instructorship award; recognizing excellence in language instruction. This award is given to only two A&S faculty members each year.
Monroe is a senior lecturer whose research includes: Assyriology, Phoenicians, and nautical/maritime archaeology. He received a Stephen and Margery Russell Distinguished Teaching Award; recognizing instructors who have demonstrated their devotion to teaching.
